What do you generally ask when you engage a technical service. I am an engineer, and a marketing professional with business studies. I generally face customers or would be customers with a common question which is neither a technical or monetary but overall value of the product that includes after sales service.

What is your priority in this matter?

I am not a business man, nor a salesman, but an educator. When talking about technical service, it is mainly on the function of a machine or your very own career or job. The teacher is dealing with his lesson plan to let his students learned. The electrician is dealing with electrical installation, and problem about electrical, and so on and so forth. Every community worker has his own respective expertise or technical ability to do his job.

In fact we have to face it everyday in day to day life. You have to buy gadgets, services etc. So you ask these questions. You want to know about things like service, durabilidity, service centre etc before actually buying anything.

Service Provider has reminded me of ISP which stands for Internet Service Provider. And also a money processor or monetary service provider like PayPal which it processes money transfer or remittance and receiving.

There are number of services you use at daily basis including your cable, telephone, different gadgets, transport, electricity companies, gas companies etc and you have to deal with them on some or the other reasons. My question was what do want to know from them apart from their charges. My question is always regarding their quality of services and support before the price.

I generally ask about the quality and guarantee. Strangely, as you know, here in India, all products break down only after the guarantee period!

My laptop faced it during the last month of extended guarantee period twice. Once the keyboard failed and next went the entire hard disc. I had an international guarantee for three years from HP and got replaced both these items without any problem.

You mentioned about service, durability, service center, among others are the basic or important things for the assurance of the product that you are buying. I may add the availability of the replacement parts is also of important.

This simply means that the product's life span is short. What a coincidence, the life of the said product falls after the "warranty" period which is usually one year or the most is 2 years.

You're one of the lucky HP customers or clients that your laptop is covered by an International guarantee and you have not problem about the replacement of defective parts of the said laptop.

What I usually asked when I wanted to buy a particular electronic products is its service center and the availability of its replacement spare parts.

Actually I had that international guarantee for my HP laptop since I bought it from Sydney before coming to India. I wanted to utilize the Tax rebate of 10% which they pay back to an out going passenger with a proper bill of a product bought within 2 months before leaving. The international extended warranty/guaranty was available on demand with little extra payment that I took full advantage.

International guarantee? This is the first time I have learned of this for I often buy products, imported ones, but there is no international guarantee for I am using here locally.

In fact all major internayional gadgets manufacturers provide this. Their customers can avail service anywhere in the world if they need it without any extra cost going to the nearest service center or logging into their website. Check the manual of any of your devices
