Are there chances of data loss in cloud computing?

Bare minimum, however you can't say that there no chances of that at all. Even Google the best data storage source can't claim that, so there...

Ultimately, it seems that no one is keeping a "back-up" of our data. Right?

Why don't you keep a back-up of your own data. There are several ways of doing that including an external Disc or if you don't have a large amount of data a pen-drive of your choice. Beside you can use One Drive etc.

Actually, in the very real sense of the cloud programming, like the big G or Google has the backup system for data loss recovery. It is very basic. Also it is very important for every individual to back up his data too.
